Intro and 1st Letter to the Edtior for 2/2

Pupstart, Professional Member: Association of Pet Dog Trainers, (www.apdt.com) - #003518, Certification by the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers, (www.ccpdt.com) - #3010053 (Exp. 09/2007), Associate Member: Animal Behavior Management Alliance (www.theabma.org), Des Moines, Iowa, (pupstart@mchsi.com), www.pupstart.com

The letters included here were stimulated by the discussions of the roles of trainers and other nonveterinarians in the care of pets with behavioral problems, published in previous issues of Journal of Veterinary Behavior: Clinical Applications and Research. These letters were sent as part of an e-mail exchange, and with the permission of all authors, the letters have been slightly modified to meet the more formal needs of a print journal. We at the Journal of Veterinary Behavior: Clinical Applications and Research look forward to expanding this inaugural section of the journal and hope to act as conduit for intelligent, meaningful, mindful, and substantive discussion.
